 note = {The measurements of hematocrit, hemoglobin content, blood pressure and maximum aerobic power were carried out for 323 Mexican boys and girls ages of 8 to 18 years, living at Léon city(1850m altitude), Guanajuato, Mexico. The average values of hematocrit were 43.0, 44.2, 46.2 and 50.0 % for boys ages of 8, 11, 14 and 17 years, respectively. Those were 42.2, 44.2, 45.1 and 43.8% for 8, 11, 14 and 17 years old girls, respectively. The average values of hemoglobin content were 14.3, 14.8, 15.8 and 18.7g/100ml blood for boys ages of 8, 11, 14 and 17 years, respectively. Those were 13.9, 14.7, 14.8 and 15.1g/100ml blood for 8, 11, 14, and 17 years old girls, respectively. The values of Mexican aged 9 to 15 years were greater by 8.0 % for boys and 10.5 % for girls in hematocrit, and 10.3 % for boys and 11.8 % for girls in hemoglobin content in comparispon with those of Japanese boys and girls which reported by Nagamine(1981). Average systolic blood pressure was in the rage of 96.1 - 104.8mmHg for 8 to 14 years old boys and 89.7 - 108.5mmHg for 8 to 15 years old girls. Average diastolic blood pressure was in the range of 56.9 - 65.4mmHg for boys and 56.4 - 67.6mmHg for girls. Maximum aerobic power was measured by collecting expired gas in Douglas bags during running on a motor driven treadmill. Maximum aerobic power was 1.17, 1.66, 2.37, and 3.60 1/min for boys ages of 8, 11, 14 and 17 years, respectively. That was 1.11, 1.45, 2.00 and 2.17 1/min for 8, 11, 14 and 17 years old girls, respectively. The following equations of hemoglobin content(Y: g/l00ml blood) on maximum aerobic power (X: 1/min) were obtained. Boys: Ŷ= 1.360X + 12.54(P<0.01). Girls: Ŷ= 0.805X + 13.39(P<0.01) Ventilatory equivalent (VE/V02max) of Mexican was greater by 21.1 % for boys and 25.4 % for girls more than that for Japanese boys and girls reported by Kobayashi et al (1978, 1979).},
