From 1973 to 1976, 479 cases (2 %) of obese students were detected out of 23,538 (69.7 % of total students) Nagoya University students. The percentage of hypertension was significantly higher (p < 0.001) in the obese group than in the non-obese group. Skinfold thickness in subscapular and abdominal resions was significantly (p < 0.001) correlated with the degree of obesity. The obese students were complicated with hypercholesterolemia (p < 0.05), hypertriglyceridemia (p < 0.01) and fatty liver (p < 0.01) with significnatly higher percentage than non-obese students. 12 (75 %) of 16 highly obese students (over 50 % than standard body weight) showed abnormal glucose tolerance or hyperinsulinemia after glucose load. These results indicate that screening check-ups and further examinations for obese students are essential for health administration of university students.}, pages = {7--13}, title = {肥満学生の健康障害の実態}, volume = {1}, year = {1978} }
