The establishment of the Nanzhao Kingdom became an opportunity for Han culture to enter western Yunnan on a large scale. Later, through the development of the Dali Kingdom, in the Yuan Dynasty, a group called the "Bai’ren (白人)" appeared in Han historical records. Due to Yunnan's formal inclusion in the rule of the Central Plains dynasty during the Yuan Dynasty, the main body promoting the popularization of Han culture in Yunnan shifted from the aristocratic group of the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms (南詔・大理国) to the Yunnan provincial government. During this period, the society of Bai’ren also underwent new changes. The Tantric Buddhism that was believed in from top to bottom during the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms were able to continue its influence due to the existence of the Duan Family General Administrator (Dunashi Zongguan 段氏総管) and the religious policies of the Yuan Dynasty. The Confucianism, which was enjoyed exclusively by the aristocracy of the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms were able to penetrate into the masses due to the establishment of temples and schools by the Yuan Dynasty in Yunnan, laying the foundation for the comprehensive integration of the Bai’ren into mainstream Han society after the Ming Dynasty.}, pages = {47--62}, title = {元代の雲南における白人社会の漢文化受容について}, volume = {7}, year = {2024} }
