| 内容記述 | Lithium-6 (6Li) is used as a blanket material in DT-fueled fusion reactors. In order to establish a fuel cycle, a technology to enrich 6Li to an isotopic ratio of 90% or higher is required. Although the lithium-mercury amalgamation method is in practical use, it is necessary to develop an environmentally preferable method such as the ion-exchange method. One of the challenges of chromatographic methods is to scale up for mass production. In this study, the application of Simulated Moving Bed (SMB) chromatography as a 6Li enrichment process was investigated. Numerical simulations based on experimental results using benzo-15-crown-5 immobilized on porous silica beads as an adsorbent showed that the SMB method is applicable to 6Li enrichment. Based on a simple scale-up using existing knowledge, it was estimated that a single SMB process using a 50 cm diameter, 437 m long column could produce 186 kg/y of 6Li enriched to 90 %. | |||||||
