| 内容記述 | In late Qing China, there was a time when the school system, textbooks, teacher training, teaching methods, etc. were modeled on Japan after the Meiji Restoration. A new method of music education which combined songs and games was also introduced to China through Qing students studying in Japan during this period. However, Chinese play songs have not received much attention in previous research. This paper addresses this research gap by focusing on the Chinese play song textbook ChangGe YouXi (Play Songs, edited and translated by WANG Jiliang and HU Junfu, 1906), that has been reprinted many times for kindergarten and primary school students. By clarifying the relationship between the editors of ChangGe YouXi and Japan, and by comparing the textbook with Japanese game textbooks and play song textbooks, the paper explores the reception of play songs in late Qing China. In doing so, it aims to elucidate an overlooked aspect of the relationship between Chinese and Japanese educational culture. As a result, I found that one of the editors of ChangGe YouXi, WANG Jiliang, had studied at a school run by the Japan Athletic Association. Additionally, 13 of the 20 play songs included in ChangGe YouXi were referenced from contemporary Japanese game or play song textbooks. Furthermore, by comparing the melody, lyrics, and play methods in the 13 play songs with the originals, I identified the following patterns of reception: 1. Those that are not very different from the originals, where the melody of the Japanese play songs remains the same and the play method is simply translated from Japanese to Chinese, but the lyrics have changed a lot; 2. Those that use only the Japanese play method and feature new melodies and Chinese lyrics. | |||||||||
