| 内容記述 | In this study, I surveyed the “auxiliary verbs of time” used in the following seven modern translations of the Bible into Japanese, and found the following results 1. Kanyaku with kunten / 2. Hepburn’s translation / 3. Meiji Motoyaku 4. Takahashi’s translation / 5. Raguet’s translation 6. Nicolai ’s translation / 7. Taisho Revised As a result, the following results were obtained. In the Kanyaku with kunten and the Nicolai’s translation, only ki tari ri is used, a result that reflects the use of “auxiliary verbs of time”in the kanbun-kundoku style of the time. On the other hand, Hepburn’s translation, Meiji Motoyaku, Takahashi’s translation, and Raguet’s translation use keri in addition to ki tari ri in many cases. Hepburn’s translation, Meiji Motoyaku, Takahashi’s translation, and Taisho Revised (only one example) use nu. As for tsu, Takahashi’s translation uses it, indicating that Takahashi’s translation showed a tendency toward the kanbun-kundoku style in the results of Saito Fumitoshi’s (2022) survey, but in this survey, it does not show a tendency toward the kanbun-kundoku style. In the Taisho Revised, only one example of nu is used except for ki tari ri, and the total number of auxiliary verbs of time is much smaller than in other sources except for the Kanyaku with kunten. This is due to the translation policy of Taisho Revised. | |||||||||
