| 内容記述 | 本稿では，米国高等教育機関の機能類型と，留学生受け入れ戦略との関連について，オハイオ州の事例に基づき考察した。先行研究では国際化が進んでいると分析されていた「研究大学」内部の博士1と博士2の間での戦略の違いを浮き彫りに出来た。特に博士2のように，学力も英語力も高い留学生を集めることが出来ない場合において，「留学生の学力と英語力を分離して把握することで質の高い留学生の定義を変更して受け入れる」といった質の解釈変容や，「米国人学生が多様性を学ぶことで就職活動を有利に進める」といった今までにないメリットが認識されている点は，機能類型の違いに基づく不利な構造のなかで，留学生を積極的に受け入れていくための戦略として注目に値する。また，博士1，博士2，修士大学における国際化戦略の違いが，留学生の能力差に根差した米国人学生と統合するメリットに対する考え方の違いを反映したものであるとの視点も新たな知見である。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The aim of this study is to disclose the relationship between institutional functional types and strategies for accepting international students in US higher education institutions, based on a case study in the state of Ohio. Through this study it became clear that Doctoral University 2 was transforming interpretations, such as "changing and accepting the definition of high-quality international students by separately considering the academic ability and English ability of international students." It also became clear that Doctoral University 2 recognizes the merits of class diversity, as "it can offer an advantage in job-hunting activities by teaching diversity to American students." Another new finding was that the differences in internationalization strategies among Doctoral universities 1, Doctoral universities 2 and master's universities reflect differences in the way of thinking about the merits of integrating with American students, which are rooted in the differences in the abilities of international students. | |||||||||
