| 内容記述 | This study examined the relationship between achieving psychosocial developmental tasks (PDTs) and psychological competitive ability (PCA) among athletes and the developmental differences in this relationship. Athletes completed a questionnaire assessing their achievement levels for five PDTs: trust, industry, identity, intimacy, and psychological weaning. PCA was evaluated using the Diagnostic Inventory of Psychological Competitive Ability for Athletes (Tokunaga and Hashimoto, 2000), which measures five factors: volition for competition, mental stability and concentration, confidence, strategic ability, and cooperation. The sample for analyses included junior high school athletes (119 men and 97 women), high school athletes (102 men and 110 women), and college athletes (169 men and 117 women). Multiple regression analyses conducted separately by sex and school stages showed that PDT achievement was generally associated with PCA. Industry was a PDT related to PCA at all school stages of male and female athletes. Examination of developmental differences suggested that for male athletes, PDTs theoretically expected to be achieved at specific school stages were closely associated with PCA. | |||||||||||||
