| 内容記述 | This paper develops a two country majority voting model to examine how tax competition interacts with wealth distribution. We incorporate a triangular distribution of human wealth and allow it to correlate with financial wealth. The analysis shows that capital tax rates and redistribution depend on the median voter’s wealth position and the cross country endowment structure. An improvement in the median’s wealth position in the home cou ntry exacerbates post tax income inequality by lowering the capital tax rate. Tax competition raises national income in the home country driven by higher income of the capital rich but reduces that of the foreign country. As a result, only the wealthy bene fit, while the poor are worse off, thereby deepening both international and domestic inequality. | |||||||
