内容記述 Jasmonic acid (JA) is involved in regulating rice defense responses against Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) and affects signaling by other plant hormones to maximize JA-induced defense responses in rice. In this study of the JA- and auxin-mediated defense system in rice, we used the previously generated gain-of-function mutant of OsIAA13, a suppressor of auxin signaling. The expression of some auxin-responsive expansin genes was downregulated in the Osiaa13 mutant, which had a JA-hypersensitive phenotype. The expression of some JA-responsive defense-related genes such as the lignin biosynthesis gene OsPrx38 was upregulated in the mutants, and lignin content was higher in the Osiaa13 mutant than in the wild type. After IAA treatment of the mutant, the expression of OsPrx38 was downregulated. Some compounds with antibacterial activity against Xoo also accumulated in the Osiaa13 mutant. These results suggest that OsIAA13 contributes to resistance to Xoo by regulating JA- and auxin-mediated defense system(s) in rice.
