| 内容記述 | This paper analyzes “Koiuta” (2006), a novel written by the Zainichi Korean woman author Kai Fukasawa (1943-2014). The central focus of this study is the manner in which confession influences human relationships. The study focuses on the confessions of two protagonists, Kawamura Shoko and Ishikawa Ryuko, and contends that these confessions transcend the realm of personal disclosure by unveiling tensions engendered by disparities in ethnicity, gender, and social standing. A comprehensive review of the document reveals that the act of confession fosters a delicate balance between intimacy and rupture, thereby underscoring the vulnerability of relational connections. The novel portrays Shoko’s endeavors to express her inner self through poetry, which initially strengthens her bond with Ryuko but subsequently leads to their disconnection. This trajectory suggests that confession, frequently anticipated to cultivate comprehension, can alternatively engender estrangement and reticence. The present study situates the novel within the broader context of Zainichi Korean literature and further argues that “Koiuta” intertwines private emotions with historical and social issues, moving beyond conventional ethnic literature to engage questions of gender and sexuality. In summary, the study ascribes the designation of “Koiuta” to the work, thereby establishing its significance as a paradigm that unveils hitherto unexplored dimensions of Fukasawa’s literary practice, particularly in the context of confession, identity, and relationality. | |||||||||
