| 内容記述 | The texts dealing with arthaprakriyā in the tradition of Paninian grammar have extensively dealt with the explanation of the verbal cognition (śābdabodha) of various components of speech, such as various types of prakṛtis, namely, dhātu, nāma, etc., and various types of pratyayas like lakāra, sup, etc. Kulkarni et al (2010) studied this aspect and developed a bracket parsing model. These texts also deal with explanation of the verbal cognition of general sentences spoken in Sanskrit. In the tradition of Paninian grammar, texts such as Vaiyākaraṇalaghumañjūṣā do discuss the verbal cognition of upamā alaṅkāra in Nipātārthanirṇaya, but such instances are scarce. Further, there doesn’t seem to be a discussion of the relation between prakṛti and pratyaya. In the present work, we aim to elucidate the verbal cognition of the arthālaṅkāra called upamā from the viewpoint of grammarians where the meaning of verbal root is considered the predominant qualificand, in the prakāratā-viśeṣyatā pattern where we link the prakṛtyartha and pratyayārtha | |||||||||
