| 内容記述 | This study provides a review of the literature on social attention among preterm infants during the first two years of corrected age, focusing on studies that used eye-tracking techniques. Studies have shown that preterm infants often demonstrate atypical patterns of attention and social engagement compared with full-term infants. These differences appear early in life and may influence subsequent social and cognitive development. Studies using eye-tracking have reported that preterm infants exhibit reduced smooth pursuit of moving objects, slower attentional disengagement, and delayed detection of visual motion or color. In social contexts, they show a weaker preference for human faces, shorter fixation on the eyes, and frequent gaze aversion during caregiver-infant interactions. These findings suggest that preterm infants have less efficient visual and attentional processing related to both dorsal and ventral visual streams. Furthermore, research has indicated that these atypicalities in social attention are associated with subsequent difficulties in language acquisition, joint attention, and social communication. Although some preterm children show partial catch-up by preschool age, others continue to experience emotional and social challenges. The reviewed studies also highlighted the influence of biological and environmental factors, including gestational age, pathology caused by preterm birth , and caregiving quality. Interventions that promote responsive caregiving demonstrably enhance social and cognitive development among low birth weight and preterm children. In conclusion, the findings emphasize the need for longitudinal studies combining eye-tracking and behavioral observation to clarify the developmental trajectories of social attention and inform earlyintervention programs supporting social communication among preterm infants. | |||||||||||||
