The case reported in this study was a male adolescent client diagnosed as "anxiety neurosis" by a psychiatrist. 81 interviews were continued for more than 3 years and interrupted by his graduation from the university. He is now working as a local official. The results obtained were as follows : The process was divided into four stages. 1) Stage I : From the initial interview to the 39th interview. "Self-expression and self-exploration in ambiguous and long-lasting problems." 2) Stage II : From the 40th interview to the 45th interview. "Awareness of the theme symbolized by the "dream"". 3) Stage III : From the 46th interview to the 68th interview. "Leading the life in passive and hopeless style, sloaganing "power-oriented" goal for the purpose of making a living." 4) Stage IV : From the 69th interview to the 81st (the last) interview. "Retreat to his home town, with the mind of triumph over his old enemies." The outcome of personality change : 5) Basic personality change in function and structure was not seen, because the goal of "the fully-functioning" and the full conquest over his anxiety and hostility was not attained.
