 note = {This report was based on the contact with the severely physically and mentally handicapped in the Middle IInd Ward in the Kobato-Gakuen. The purpose of this report was to clarify the worth of their lives from the standpoint of a humanistic approach. For this purpose, first of all, I could not but criticize for myself. That is to say, I had to muse on whether I could empathize with them in their anguish through the contact or not. The results were as follows. 1) I could not empathize sufficiently with them in their anguish but could only try to do so through the contact.
