内容記述 | In this paper, we reported some cases of preadolescence and adolescence, and discussed on the positive meanings of the crisis or the cross-roads of life on which they inevitably encountered on such problems as the self-establishment, self-determination, individuation or ego-identity. In this research, we stresssed our view points upon the followings : firstly, the processes of development in the interpersonal relationships; secondly, to clarify the positive meaning of "withdrawing" or "seclusion-in-self" in the personality development; thirdly, to make clear that the adolescents, by keeping the self-secluding in inner world, accomplish the ego more stronger, can possess their own secrecies, and can keep the interpersonal distance properly; fourthly, to approach them by continuing clinical helping relationships. In this paper, we reported the four male adolescents, and discussed upon the above view points. In the case 1,we studied on the peculiar problems of the patient who had main complaints of hyperprexia, abdominal pain, vertigo and school refusal at pre-adolescence. The main points of issue arranged fours. Firstly, it has been increased psychosomatic disease among juveniles recently. Secondly, such a problem is liable to appear at the critical period when the development changes from childhood to adolescence, and the symptom presents a state of crisis. To add to this, it is related to occurrence of the bully under the present conditions at school. Thirdly, we are able to divide about ten years old as the beginning of preadolescence from childhood. And fourthly, we can recognize the period as "separating-independence", and that "chumship" is indispensable to normal and healthy mental development. In the case 2 and 3,we reported the school refusals who began in pre-and early-adolescence, and discussed the crisis in adolescence. The symptom formation of the two cases, however, were clearly different. In the former case, the client has had so close interpersonal distance to his mother and grandfather in his own family constellation from childhood that he could not develop his "chumship" fully. At his primary school days, he began school refusal and has continued it chronicically. His critical problem, the school refusal, was conquered by the collaborative counseling with him and his mother. There remains, however, a close interpersonal relationship between the client and his mother, and he could not yet establish "chumship". Also in this case 2,the client "withdrew" in the way that he was absorbed in reading an encyclopedia, and gratified his intellectual curiosity only. The client leaves the task that he accomplishes his own developmental self-establishment fully. In the case 3,the close mother-child interpersonal relationship has become clearly. The client had suddenly become school refusal at early adolescence, and withdrew and wandered at the world of "Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO)". He obtained the "philosophy of life" in the withdrawing world, returned from the world of UFO with his mother, and became to root to his real world. In these processes, he could confront with his mother, and moreover could have "secrecy" with his father. The client engaged in "arbeiting", and entered the high school by his own self-determination. He could achieve the "separation-individuation" with the others. A further problem is pointed out that he has not yet established the heterosexual relationships of intimacy. In the last case 4,the client was a high school student. His main symptoms were as follows : the decrease in learning motivation, aggression to the family members (especially violent resistance to his father) and seclusion to his private room. Before counseling, he had been isolated and helpless at his home. Addition to it, he had been suffering from "ozena" chronically. This caused, we suppose, the lack of continuation of the will to learn. At that time, he looked like fallen into apathetic state day by day. After initial interview, however, he went to a hospital by his own determination for taking surgical treatment for his physical disease ('ozena'). It was the rare experience, namely 'seclusion', for him that he confined himself in the hospital not in the school for about one month. After the experience, he retired there, and the counseling began again. During the counseling, the client became healthy gradually, and had got rid of the apathetic state. At the termination of counseling, he became capable of planning his own life. Concerning to his unconscious processes, it would be clear that the theme of the killing his 'inner father-image' was promoted secretly in his inner psychic world. He never talked out of it. We caught the above statement derived from his responses upon the projective test (TAT) by comparison with the initial one and the final one. | |||||
