In a semi-structured interview, a working-mother talked about her life events on employment, marriage, childbirth and returning to work after taking child care leave. The data was analyzed by using SCAT (Steps for Coding and Theorization). The findings of the analysis suggested that three factors were involved in making work-family balance possible. Namely, adaptive strategies such as “reframing,” “position change” and “avoidance of work troubles”. The study also suggested that enhancing problem-solving abilities and developing for self-control at her initial job stage had contributed to her early career forming and subsequently kept her proactive about problem-solving both at work place and home. When a problem arises, working-mothers should take initiative in discussing the solution to avoid problems and endeavor to improve relationships with the parties concerned. While working short hours after childcare leave, they should engage themselves in work as a professional. They should also be aware of their position in relation to colleagues and the degree of flexibility they have at work, which enable their to make work-family balance possible.}, pages = {3--18}, title = {育児・家事と仕事の両立を可能にする要因の検討 : ある働く母親の語りの分析を通して}, volume = {59}, year = {2016} }
