Nagoya University Medical Library launched “The Dawn of Modern Medical Science Digital Archive” as a digital archive for the distribution of digitized historical medical materials on the Internet in 2011. The digital archive contains historical medical materials belonging to the Medical Museum of Nagoya University. The Medical Museum is located on the fourth floor of the Medical Library. It collects, preserves, and exhibits historical medical books, medical instruments, photographs, and other items to promote understanding of the history of Nagoya University School of Medicine in the context of the Tokai district and to look forward to the future of medical science. The Medical Library has been digitizing books and other materials continuously and has held planned exhibitions of medical history since 2012.
