 note = {In recent years, the clients who are middle or upper-middle ages come to seek for counseling. Especially the middle-aged women are more frequent to require for counseling. These eople have the problems such as couples or sexual disturbances. Therefore, it will be pointed out that the psychological-clinical counseling becomes more necessary. By the way, it is often encountered by the counselor that these clients have lost their mothers by some reasons (i.e. illness of accident) at early infantile age or childhood, and unsolving the "mourning work" or "grief work", fell in a certain psychological disorders (for example, depression), and moreover has caused a problem in their family members convergently. These cases are the clients Who have lost a mother model and fell in interpersonal disturbances. The purpose of this paper is, under these problem-consciousness as mentioned above, to report some characteristics of the two cases, and to discuss on some points arisen in the counseling processes. The author refers to the meaning of dreams, especially the psychological meaning of "the cats" reported by the client 'A', and by the client 'B', the effectiveness of "Focusing" (E.T. Gendlin) adapted in the psychotherapeutic processes. The Case 'A' used in this study was a married woman of 39 years old. The family was consisted of her husband and two daughters. She has lost her mother on account of illness at the 1st grade of primary school. The complaint was to "cure insomnia due to neurological fatigue". The therapeutic interviews were continued for one year, and terminated at 28 sessions. The Case 'B' was also a married woman of 38 years old. The family was consisted of her husband and two sons. She has lost her mother on account of unexpected traffic accident at the 6th grade of primary school. The complaints were the "escape from depressive state raised by interpersonal trouble", and to "be released from the lost feeling of well-being". The therapeutic interviews were continued for one years, and terminated at 28 sessions. I. The therapeutic processes of the both cases were as follows: 1. The processes of the Case 'A' was divided into 4 stages. The Stage I was "Self-introduction" (#1～#7), and the dreams were reported six. The Stage II was "Relaxed self and Mourning work" (#8～#15), and the dreams were reported two. The Stage III was "Re-encounter with an old friend and Start to self-integration" (#16～#21), and the dreams were reported three. And the Stage IV was "Conflict with dependence vs. independence toward termination, and Final termination" (#22～#28). Dream was reported none. 2. The process of Case 'B' was divided into 7 stages in all. The Stage I was "Expression of own problem - depressive mood" (#1～#2), and administered "Focusing" #1. The Stage II was "Self-establishment and Seeking for an Ideal" (#3～#10) and adapted "Focusing" from #2 to #4. The Stage III was "Awareness of resignation, and Exploration of being naturally"(#11～#14); The Stage IV being "Exploration of Maternity" (#15～#20),the Stage V being "An Unfolding - Stagnated undercurrent and Stagnation of empty mood (#21～#22), the Stage VI being ''Exploration of being Adult"(#23～#26), and the last Stage VII was "An Awareness of Self, and Termination" (#27～#28). II. Concerning to these psychotherapeutic processes, the following discussions were done: 1. Characteristics of the counseling processes. 1) Basic attitude of the counselor. 2) The therapeutic techniques - dream-listening and "Focusing". 2. Characteristics of clients during the counseling processes. 1) Characteristics of clients at the initial intake interviews. 2) Characteristics of clients during counseling situations. 3) Aspects of interpersonal relationships which were disclosed during counseling processes. 3.
