Elliptical vibration cutting has recently been utilized in practice, and some applications require high-efficiency machining at large width of cut causing vibration problems. Therefore, its mechanism is investigated by analyzing the finished surfaces and the undesirable vibrations superimposed on the elliptical vibration.
