The present study was designed based on the preceding analyses to explore institutional differences in more detail, focusing solely upon freshmen enrolled in the faculty of education in each university. Especially, students' characteristics in the Faculty of Education of Nagoya University (n=60), which is regarded as a "non teacher-training school" in Tokai area, were subject to close examinations in comparison with those in the "teacher-training schools," namely, Aich University of Education (n=371), a specialized teacher training school, and the Faculty of Education of Gifu University (n=267) and Shizuoka University (n=123). The composition of instruments in the questionnaire was as follows. (1) Personal background variables included sex, the time of career selection, expected courses after graduation, and so on. (2) A self concept instrument consisted of self-image and self-evaluated competence scales. (3) Occupational attitudes included occupational readiness, occupational interest, and job orientation instruments. (4) The image of, and satisfaction with the school entered were also measured. Major characteristics of the freshmen enrolled in the Faculty of Education of Nagoya University were found to be as follows. (1) Examinations on the personal background measures suggested that among subject students at Nagoya University, the rate of uninterrupted enrollment from the highschool (Genki) was lower, and the time of university selection for entry was much later, compared with the colleagues in other universities. Moreover, it was found that their fathers engaged in educational occupations at significantly higher ratio, when they were categorized as specialists. (2) For the self concept measures, it was found that the self-evaluated accountability was higher among Nagoya University freshmen. In addition, the levels of occupational readiness, and orientations toward human relations and work conditions in future occupations were found significant lower. (3) Among subject freshmen in Aich University of Education and Nagoya University, negative relationship between satisfaction with the university life and the "image-gap" (an discrepacy between the self- and the school- image) was demonstrated as hypothesized. (4) In terms of occupational interests, freshmen enrolled in the Faculty of Education of Nagoya University and those in other universities were found basically homogeneous. However, freshmen in Nagoya University seem to have stronger moratorium tendency, compared with those in other universities. In conclusion, it was stressed that the longitudinal study on actual occupational choice processes needs to be done to confirm the above findings., 国立情報学研究所で電子化したコンテンツを使用している。}, pages = {279--289}, title = {東海地区国立大学教育学部新入生の進路意識に関する研究}, volume = {33}, year = {1986} }
