San Andrés was the dominant political center in the Valley of Zapotitán during the Lace Classic period (AD 600-900). The Scructure-5, locally well-known as \"La Campana\" (\"bell-shaped\" in Spanish)\" is the largest monumental architecture at the site. The excavation aimed to determine the construction sequence of the Scructure-5 and verify the existence of a twin staircase of the platform, which was proposed by Christopher Begley and his colleagues.
