Bare contact between aluminium alloy members and stainless steel fasteners results to galvanic corrosion of aluminium alloy members. A corrosion behaviour study was carried out on different aluminium alloy types with different surface treatments mounted to stainless and mild steel fasteners with different surface treatments and subjected to a 1000 hours salt water spray test. It was found that fasteners treated with zinc flake coating exhibited strongest resistance against galvanic corrosion. Among untreated specimens, aluminium alloy type A5083P-O was found to be the most durable.}, pages = {525--536}, title = {Galvanic corrosion study of aluminium alloy plates mounted to stainless and mild steel bolts by accelerated exposure test}, volume = {62}, year = {2016} }
