In Japan, high school sports and cultural club activities are so popular. Every high school provides many club activities and many students can enjoy them. However these club activities have become an enormous burden on teachers. Therefore researchers need to find out a mechanism to ensure the sustainability of high school club activities. This paper reveals the features of high schools that offer club activities on a large scale. Further, it analyzes the type of club activities by the diversity and the student involvement. The dataset was extracted from high school directories. The analysis paved the way to following findings. 1. The number of high school club activities varies a lot depending on schools. 2. The differences among schools are influenced by the size of the school, years of operation and the academic status of school. 3. The participation rate of each school is equally high. 4. The participation rate in sports activities varies on the basis of the sexual distribution and academic status of the students. When the proportion of male students or the academic status is high, the participation rate of sports activities also becomes high. 5. However sexual distribution and academic status works in the reverse for cultural club activities; when the male student proportion and academic status is comparatively low, the participation rate of cultural activities becomes high. In conclusion, the implications of the research is discussed.}, pages = {29--44}, title = {高等学校における部活動の実態に関する一考察 : 学校単位の部活動数・加入率に着目して}, volume = {60}, year = {2017} }
