[Methods] Thirteen healthy Japanese women (21~22 years old, BMI: 20.2\u00b11.6) were recruited. The subjects performed 4-week aerobic exercise program (rhythmic dance) at 60% of their maximal heart rate for 20 min/day. After 4-weeks interval they performed 4-week resistance exercise program (sit up, back extension, overhead press, squat, twist) for 10 min/day. Before and after intervention 75-g oral glucose tolerance test were performed. [Results] Eight subjects have wild type (Trp64) of \u03b23AR which is the genotype with high lipolysis activity. Other five subjects have Trp64Arg in \u03b23AR or homozygote of Arg16Gly in \u03b22AR they are the genotypes with high glucose metabolism. In the subjects with high lipolysis type the level of \u039430-50 min glucose was significantly higher during the aerobic exercise compare to that in resting (43.4\u00b117.5 vs. -0.5\u00b120.3 mg/dl, p<0.05). After the intervention the level was reduced to 23.3\u00b126.5 mg/dl. The level of \u039430-45 min glucose during the resistance exercise was 23.0\u00b130.9 mg/dl. After the intervention that was kept at significantly higher level compare to that in resting (25.3\u00b124.6 vs. -0.5\u00b117.1 mg/dl, p<0.05). In the subjects with high glucose metabolism the level during the aerobic exercise was significantly higher compare to that in resting (40.0\u00b19.2 vs. 12.0\u00b111.1 mg/dl, p<0.05). After the intervention the level was kept at 45.0\u00b132.4 mg/dl. The level of \u039430-45 min glucose was significantly higher during the resistance exercise compare to that in resting (46.8\u00b122.8 vs. -1.4\u00b114.8 mg/dl, p<0.05). After the intervention the level was reduced to 11.6\u00b126.0 mg/dl.
