Especially, it is difficult to answer how we improve their interpersonal skills. In this study, we have three purpose-reviewing the studies of social dysfunctions or the lacks of interpersonal skills, reconsidering psychotherapeutic approaches (ex., TEACCH programs) on autism, and reconstructing and presenting our new psychotherapeutic approach (structural-psychothrapeutic approach)-to challenge to answer such problems. At first, we reviewed the studies of social dysfunction in autism so far. As a result, it was clear that autistic children have defects on their cognition of affection, cannot distinguish their own thought from others', and cannot integrate various factors on one conception. Secondly, we discussed previous psychotherapeutic approach on autism, especially Schopler's TEACCH programs. Then we showed that treatments on autism need structural understanding on several levels. Finally, we presented our structural-psychotherapeutic approaches on one autistic child. He was 16 years old when he first visited our clinic. For next 4 years he has continued to visit our clinic once a week. Our psychotherapy-process was described.
