From the result of this study, it was estimated that this man contributed to establishing support for returning to work by means of early detection and appropriate measures against the mental health issues in the company because he observed and sensed employees having a mental health issue using his abilities such as “Kanken no Metsuke” (meaning seeing the opponent with one’s eyes and minds) gained through Kendo. The result reinforced the previous studies that the sports activities since early childhood contribute to development of non cognitive skills such as diligence and cooperativity that give an effect of directly improving productivity in the labor market. Against the backdrop that the previous quantitative studies have revealed that non cognitive skills are cultivated by sport experiences since early childhood or school day while there was a limited number of qualitative studies, this study attempted qualitative analysis and was able to present certain non cognitive skills. However, an adequate number of studies have not been conducted on whether the sport activities and participation in a sport club cultivate non cognitive skills that directly enhance productivity in the labor market. In addition, these studies have many challenges particularly on measurement of non cognitive skills, for which there are various factors depending on the environment of the subjects and the factors need to be comprehensively examined.}, pages = {31--43}, title = {幼少期から取り組んだ剣道を通して培った力は仕事にいかに活かされたのか : 大企業の総務担当者としてのメンタルヘルス問題への関わり}, volume = {41}, year = {2018} }
