The definition of research philosophy in this paper is the thinking foundation of pedagogical researches which has been published by scholars in Education Department of Nagoya University. Initially, to examine research philosophy in Education Department of Nagoya University, this research determined the appropriate noble persons who were determined by examining how the research system of the Education Department of Nagoya University in the early period was formed. As a result, it was revealed that pedagogy perspective from Hosoya Toshio, Shigematsu Takayasu, Yoda Arata are the clues to examine the research philosophy in the Education Department of Nagoya University in the early period. Then, this research clarified the ways of pedagogical research that Hosoya Toshio, Shigematsu Takayasu, Yoda Arata expected by arranging the contents of their article published by April 1, 1952. As a result, it was revealed that the Education Department of Nagoya University in the early period had two research philosophies. One is to emphasize the scientific method when creating knowledge about education. The other is to contextualize those knowledge in Japan education. Hidaka Daishiro who mediated CI&E and Education Reform Committee pointed that technical culture of the teaching profession which CI&E assumed was educational science using the method that is psychological, sociological, demonstrative, statistical, and experimental. It might be said that the research philosophy in the Education Department of Nagoya University in the early period resonate with this educational science.
