Usually, the term immigration refers to movement of people to a different region or country, while ‘ecologi cal migration’ refers to movement of people, caused by the deterioration of ecological situation to preserve and recover the destroyed ecological environment. This means, the activities by the people at the migration origin are regarded as the cause of the environment’s destruction. This study focuses on the positive and negative effects of the ‘ecological migration’ policy portrayed in the movie ‘Tuya’s Marriage’. Although being designed to recover and preserve environment that had already been destructed, the ecological migration policy causes another damage - the complete destruction of the migrants’ culture.
