First, it examines the process of how the term Kiryo was adopted from a Daishi in Manyoshu into a heading of a category in Kokin Wakashu. Subsequently, the works by Ōtomo no Yakamochi and similar waka poems are examined. In doing so, this paper discusses how the acceptance of Senbetsu in Chinese poetry had promoted the composition of more waka poems on Senbetsu by bureaucrats for one another. And simultaneously, how this also prompted the establishment of the category on Ribetsu. However, it also indicates how the holding of banquets in which poets would compose their work had weakened the sense of sorrow expressed in poems of separations. Furthermore, it considers the compilation method of Kokin Wakashu, which had classified the Jyugaka and the waka poems of Yuran in its ninth volume, Kiryoka, and argues how this method had preserved the meaning of journey in the term Kiryo while excluding the part that means Ryoshu (melancholy felt during a journey).}, pages = {251--265}, title = {『古今和歌集』における「離別」と「羈旅」の部立の成立について}, volume = {2}, year = {2019} }
