They considered granitic dikes originated in Precambrian time. Suzuki and Adachi (1991) obtained CHIME ages of 230-250 Ma on zircon and monazite at the same locality, and considered these ages represent the time of intrusion of the granitic dikes. To clarify the Precambrian age problem of the granitic dikes at Kagasawa, laserablation ICP-MS U-Pb dating was carried out. Newly determined U-Pb zircon ages agree with the CHIME ages and the time of intrusion is confirmed. Medium-grained granodiorites contain several Precambrian zircons, and Precambrian origin is confirmed.
