Therefore it is important and significant to study beachrock. We collected beachrock samples from Shimaura island, NE of Miyazaki prefecture and three localities of Maibahbama, Yoshino coast and Ohuratabaru coast of Miyako island, Okinawa prefecture. Whole samples were radiocarbon dated by Tandetron AMS of Nagoya University. In order to determine the age of conglomeratic beachrock five cement materials removed from boulders and three shell samples imbedded in the cemented materials from Shimaura island were collected and radiocarbon dated. One cement sample was analyzed by ICPM-8500 to confirm CaCO3 component. The results of this study shall be presented at not only domestic academic societies but also at international academy of sciences in the future.
