First, I discuss the rough classification of activities for supporting the development of educational materials. I then briefly report on the current situation of education using Information and Communications Technology (ICT), which is the foundation of online education and support for development of online educational resources in higher education institutions in Japan. To introduce some examples supporting the development of online educational materials by an academic organization, I report some cases of Innovation Center for Educational Resources (ICER) in Kyushu University. Currently, systematic support for the development of online educational materials is in the introductory stage. However, some cases are introduced in the present study although it is difficult to show effective support methods systematically and quantitatively.
