 note = {This research aims to analyze the factors that cause the misuse of Japanese passive sentences among Chinese native speakers. Through the investigation of three learners' corpuses, 346 wrong cases were classified into seven categories using to the sources of misuse. It was found that the majority of mistakes were caused by failing to understand the meaning and the function of passive sentences. Moreover, there is a significant amount of incorrect uses of transitive and intransitive pairs of Japanese verbs, made on verbs ending with "ERU".},
