First two sections deal with an establishment of mathematic simulation, and characterization of design parameters and operation variables on the basis of the simulation. In the structure of stills, a sophisticated idea is required in the feeding system of liquid to the wick. Hence, the bended heat penetrating plate was invented, and the feasibility was proved. Main structure of the still was an very flat rectangular enclosure where evaporation and condensation took place. Hence, the heat transfer mechanism was experimentally studied and provided instructive data for designing the still. Finally, application for agricultural purposes in hot arid zones was discussed and the result quantitatively described the availability.}, pages = {1--53}, title = {Studies of desalting solar stills}, volume = {43}, year = {1991} }
