These results show that the gas, gas pressure and discharge current have some considerable influence on the noise. In the tubes containing argon gas and mercury vapour two different types of noise appear depending on the condition of discharge, while the tubes filled only with argon gas have one type only. The distribution of noise along the tube axis suggests a possible origin and mechanism of noise generation.}, pages = {64--70}, title = {Radio-Frequency noise in hot-cathode gas discharge tubes}, volume = {10}, year = {1958} }
