With severe lack of infrastructures development under the restrictive authorities (Egypt, Jordan, and Israel), it has been known that Palestinian society has developed rich NGO/POs in every field of its social lives. However, if we look at the community level social developmental activities, we can find much more constant and self-supportive activities in a traditional arena such as clans’society than modern NGOs and POs. In this paper, I will criticize the discussion which negates traditional societies as a part of civil society and will lay out significant aspects of civil society organizations’ activities in the traditional arena of Palestine. The analysis has been made based on the field research in several communities in West Bank. By listing up all social group activities in those communities, I have sort out three domains of their major activities: 1) formal, 2) semi-formal and 3) informal. Each domain is composed of 1) official institutions (local government and other national institutions), 2) NGOs and POs, and 3) groupings by personal relationships, mainly clans.
