The benefit, however, impute to the eastern coastal area, whereas development of the western inner area relatively has been slower. In reason as for east-west regional disparity in the income aspect there is a tendency which is expanded continuously. As for the building of infrastructure, which becomes the foundation of economic activity, it has considerably lagged in the western area in comparison with the eastern area. Especially lag in traffic facility improvement has converted the restriction factor of economic development in order to obstruct the flow ability of human resources and goods between areas. In this study an integrated model of transportation and regional economic activities is proposed to evaluate economic impacts due to the improvement of railroad transport infrastructure in the western region. From the results of two case-studies which apply this model on the inter-regional railroad service, increase of the regional utilities which could be caused by decreasing prices and by promoting actual real income, was also observed in the outside areas of the railroad line as well as in the area along the railroad.
