Some systems use received signal strength of wireless LAN for positioning. But the distribution of received signal strength differs depending on the orientation of the terminal. In this paper, we examine the difference of received signal strength distribution to each orientation, and propose an orientation estimation method using divergence of received signal strength distribution. By using our method, users can know their direction only using wireless LAN adapter.
