The insulation of a superconducting transformer is classified into several insulation components. Moreover, we investigate fundamental insulation characteristics peculiar to the superconducting and creogenic circumstances: area and volume effects on breakdown strength, V-t characteristics, quench-induced dynamic breakdown characteristics and so on.
