The method is superior in simplicity to any other method in the case of a discrete transfer function such a when using a FFT analyzer. Using the method, the modal parameters of natural frequency and modal damping ratio are identified with a complex ratio of the transfer function obtained from the unit impulse response multiplied by an exponential window to the normal transfer function at an only point near resonance.
