Therefore, in order to manage river landscape properly, it is important to estimate morphological change quantitatively. We have continued to study the downstream segment of the Kizu river (0-20km) to identify the extent of morphological change and have found special patterns in the changes of vegetated areas and the change of bar morphology. In this paper, we postulate a fundamental pattern of transformation of bars with growth of vegetated areas in the Kizu river. Then, numerical simulation is conducted to clarify the influence of vegetated areas on the migration and transformation of bars.
