There have been many studies about users' preference, information search behavior, and learning effects in individual resources. However, there is little empirical research about how users search for information and what problems exist in such information search processes in the environment including multiple information resources. In this study, we try to understand how library users behave in the information environment consisting of physical and electronic information resources through the psychological experiment. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, although there are highly structured information resources as books and they are available freely, users do not necessarily use them. Second, using information resources is biased towards either a physical resource or an electronic resource in the information search process. Finally, a clear purpose tends to facilitate generation of information needs.}, pages = {69--82}, title = {大学図書館における情報探索活動に関する研究 : われわれはいかに異なる情報源を活用しているのか?}, volume = {5}, year = {2007} }
