In Study 1, data (n=920) on three past studies were analyzed focusing on the descriptive statistics of self-discrepancy. In Study 2, test-retest reliability of this questionnaire was investigated. The questionnaire was administered twice with the interval of a month (n=57). Result showed that this method had good test-retest reliability. In Study 3, Comparison of ideographic and nonideographic method measuring self-discrepancy was performed about relationships to self-esteem. Each index significantly related to self-esteem. For participants with high private self-consciousness and expression capability, only discrepancies measured with ideographic approach were significantly related to self-esteem.
