In addition, the task to name Stroop-like color-naming stimuli seems to generate an emotional situation. Then the situation was measured by both indices of physiological responses and subject rantings of color preference. This study deals with the color-naming responses in following five experimental sessions. In the first and the fifth(last) session, we instructed the subjects either to name Chinese color-characters or to name disk-colors (Exercise Ⅰand Ⅱ). As the second and the fourth session, Control experiments (Ⅰand Ⅱ) were conducted before and after Main experiment. In these experiments, the subjects were asked to name Stroop-type characters of nine color-naming stimuli (three kinds of color name : red , green and blue  ×three kinds of character color : red , green and blue ). These stimuli were presented on the center of the hemisphere (dia : 2 m) after the presentation (on: 50", off: 15") of white (W) background for five seconds in random order. The Main experiment was carried out as the third session, and in this experiment, the subjects named the above nine color-naming stimuli after the presentation of background colors (red : R, green : G and blue : B). Further, in the Control and the Main experiments, each subject named under one of the following four kinds of naming method; ①word(name)-color (wc) of double response, ② color-word (cw) of double response, ③only word of single response (w) and ④only color of single response (c). We assigned 24 subjects to 12 color-naming conditions (three kinds of background color x four kinds of naming method) by two subjects. Reaction time (RT), heart rate (HR) and galvanic skin response (GSR) were recorded to the naming responses under the combined conditions of background color and naming method. We obtained the following three main results. (1)The reaction times in color-naming tasks increased as the hue difference between words and colors increased. Therefore, the interference seemed to operate intensively between contrastive colors and words. (2)The variations of error and delay were correlated with those of reaction time under the three kinds of background color and the three kinds of character color. In addition, the errors represented the consistent effects of background color and character color on the color-naming responses. (3)The variations of the GSR amplitude (micro mho) corresponded with those of the preferences on the background colors in the Main experiment. However, this tendency was not so clear in the variations of the HR. In conclusion, the inhibitory interactions between the color process and the semantic process were confirmed to be based on the hue contrast by using the combined color-naming conditions with the different background colors and naming methods. However, the color-naming tasks have generated considerable influence on the behavioral and physiological responses under the presentation of Stroop-type characters with the various background colors.}, pages = {45--58}, title = {等質色視野における色光応答の分析(2)―色名呼称(Stroop課題)における背景色光刺激の感情喚起効果について―}, volume = {34}, year = {1988} }
