Reflective thinking generates cognitive models on the basis of which we can grasp why and how our worlds are going on, decision-making programs and operational procedures or routines, which are supplied to the other two subsystems. Decision-making subsystem deals with irregular and ill-structured problems occurring in the daily operation to solve them by its own effort, or creates new routines for solving the problems and then brings them back to the operation. In operation subsystem tasks are accomplished to get the desired results by various routines. Routines take a very important part in thinking. Nonetheless routines, especially tacit ones, are typically treated as habitual, mechanical acts or rule-based, fixed pattern of behaviors. In either case, they are far removed from human and organizational thinking or deliberation. But the slips or gaps between the desired results and actual ones, sometimes bring up healthy questions as to why we performed the routines, and cause the performer to make deep and critical thinking.
