To date, most researches suggest discontinuous organization change is a retrospective reaction to the environment change. However, I argue it is also possible to create discontinuous organization change by organization’s proactive behavior. In this paper, firstly, Punctuated Equilibrium Model is reviewed, and by comparing with other models, its problematic aspects are disclosed. Secondly, I examine organization’s proactive innovation behavior and find the possibility to generate discontinuous organization change by ongoing intra-organizational and inter-organizational adjustment process. Thirdly, in the case study of the Denso Group, this possibility is tested. Finally, as a conclusion, the organization’s proactive behavior, rather than retrospective behavior, is more important in the management of discontinuity.}, pages = {87--104}, title = {不連続な組織変化の創出}, volume = {52}, year = {2004} }
