"ガウス雑音とは大きく異なった統計的体質を有するインパルス性雑音環境下においては，ガウス雑音下での使用を前提として設計された従来の受信機では十分な特性を得ることができず，インパルス性雑音の統計的性質に基づいた受信機設計を行う必要がある．そこで本論文では，インパルス性雑音の統計的性質について検討を行い，雑音の同相成分と直交成分の非独立性を利用して送信シンボルの判定を行う受信機を提案している．まず，インパルス性雑音の同相成分と直交成分の統計的性質について検討し，直交成分に高振幅の雑音（インパルス雑音）が生じている場合には，同相成分にもインパルス雑音が発生している確率が高くなることを示している．次に，この統計的性質を利用して送信シンボルの判定を行う受信機を新しく提案し，その受信機を用いることによって従来型受信機を大きく上回る最適に近い特性が得られることを明らかにしている．更に，雑音の同相成分と直交成分の非独立性が最ゆう判定を行う最適受信機の構成に与える影響について検討し，インパルス性雑音環境下において最適受信を行う場合は，BPSK方式などの搬送波に対する同相成分のみを用いて信号伝送を行う通信方式においても，直交成分に生じる雑音を観測する必要があることを明らかにしている．",
