内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to derive some critical aspects of the legitimacy-creating process, by examining the historical evidence of the developmental process of Japanese nursing business. The Japanese nursing business started in the beginning of the Meiji era(i.e.,1868-1912), but it was little known to the general public and, even worse, often despised as a lowly occupation because of people's misunderstanding. At the present day, however, Japanese people recognize the importance of the nursing business. We analyze that when a training school for nurses was established and how the occupation of nurse was recognized to the general public. The following results were obtained. To begin with, institutional entrepreneurs, who break out an old institution and create an innovative business, were born. Next, institutional entrepreneurs employ actors who have already had legitimacy, and utilize exetrnal opportunities, to acknowledge the importance of new occupation. Furthermore, repeating practice of action leads to enhancing of cognitive legitimacy. Finally, the government also accepts the existence of the occupation-sociopolitical legitimacy is gained. | |||||
