内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to propose a new framework of assessment that will contribute to support foreign children. First, we had an overview of the current status of the assessment for foreign children. It was found that the need for assessment has been recognized, but the situation of the children is not sufficiently understood because of the lack of inspection methods and the difficulties of its implementation. Then, we examined the results of the assessment that was performed for Brazilian out of school children residing in Hamamatsu City. We carried out four methods of assessment: vocabulary test (Japanese and Portuguese), intelligence test, behavioral observations and impressions of teachers and researchers. As a result, we were able to clarify the actual situation and the reality of the children that was difficult to see only through subjective observation and assessment of language acquisition. However, that it still is not sufficient, and challenges remain in terms of linking the results of the assessment and the specific educational practices, and understanding how to connect them better. Foreign students in Japan are often having a higher risk than Japanese students, and in the case of out school children this is even more so. Therefore such foreign students need special consideration and we must be clearly aware that they are the target of special education. In that case, not only has life dysfunction (social disadvantage) caused some developmental delays, but if social activities and participation are constrained, it is necessary to promote them by reaching out to health, internal factors (personal factors) and/or external factors. Based on the above discussion, we have presented a tentative framework for assessment. | |||||
